Place Value Scavenger Hunt

Today I had my students go on a math scavenger hunt. Around the room I hid bags that had base ten blocks in them. Each bag was labeled with a letter, A-O, and each one contained a different amount of base ten blocks. The students had to count the base ten blocks in each bag and figure out what number the blocks represented. They had to record their answers on a recording sheet and tell whether the number was even or odd (since we just studied that). They had so much fun, and it was a great informal assessment for me!
